Give And Take by Fran on Being Fran(k). {On blogging} “Please share what your life is really like. It’s true, the internet and news is full of monstrous things. It’s nice to read and see lovely things! Social media leaves us in a precarious situation. We have a lot of control over the persona we share. It’s easy to fall into a comparison trap, and sometimes I think it’s a detriment to only portray your life as full of whimsy and coffee and ecstatic babies. Throw in some chaos. Say some hard things. Realize that in choosing to only share the good, it’s harder for many to relate. You have a unique opportunity to make a person feel comfortable in their skin by knowing they’re not the only one with tough stuff going on.”
Colbert Takes On Pat Robertson via Huffington Post. Colbert Takes On Pat Robertson’s Sexist Advice For “Awful Looking Women.” “When I’m looking for relationship advice, I always turn to televangelist and gay icon Pat Robertson,” Colbert admitted when introducing his support for Robertson’s newest foot-in-mouth statement on “Foot In Mouth: The TV Show,” also known as “The 700 Club.”

So much goodness in one post… that adoption video gave me goosebumps!
I also loved that article “Give and Take.” I have no right to criticize any blogger since I am not one but I do find myself much more attracted to people who add in some honesty with all their perfect coffee pictures and endless crafts because my life is very real and I love to know I am not alone. I know I have said it before, but this is one reason why I love your blog. :)
Also, I could’ve written that article about the 3 year old about my own 2 yr old… sometimes I can figure out just what it is and I feel quite accomplished and then other times, I honestly do not know. :)
Happy Weekend!
Loved the adoption stories! My sis-in-law was adopted from Romania and was severely malnourished. Her family simply couldn’t afford the food to feed her (it was right after the fall of the communist regime). She still has some health issues from that first year where she didn’t get enough nutrition. But she’s about to be married and is loving life now!
Also, my best friend from college and her husband are in the process of adopting from Colombia. She was adopted from there as an infant too. Adoption is close to my heart and I would love to be able to do so in the future.
You always find such interesting things!!
Being adopted I really was touched by the adoption video (touched = I cried like a baby when the son started singing and playing at the piano). I wasn’t rescued like they were, but its still something very close to my heart and oh, so special.
Love your blog, I hope mine will be good like yours someday (but that would require me to actually blog…something I haven’t kept up with recently)
Thank you, that was a good end of the week snack!
The babies! Oh, the babies!
Really, really!!! needed to hear “What Susie says of Sally says more of Susie than Sally” this afternoon. Good stuff!
Thank you for doing these every week.
The baby bath video was amazing. I felt so calm when it was done and I wasn’t even getting the bath. Although I did worry about the water going in the ears. I can’t stop the worry traaaaain.
Also – Will & Kristen had me loling and the trust fall thing was classic. HAHA
Also the opposum part was the best part. I lol’d.
46 Reasons – Spot on. Lord beer me strength.
I love when I laugh and cry in a matter of minutes. You find some serious good stuff.
Thanks :)
The baby bath video made my ovaries explode.
okay, trust fall forward? HILARIOUS.
Oh lord, I was convinced I was done having children until watching the baby bath video. That was pure torture. And the adoption video, so lovely. Love your Friday posts!
That baby washing. Oh my God.
I never expected the trust fall fail to fail the way it did! Made my day.
