Recently Going Overnight
I’m leaving the babe overnight for the first time.
Saturday early morning to Sunday evening for an annual girls-only soiree with Austin’s extended family. I always enjoy myself at this event, but I admit I’m nervous about leaving Waylon for the first time. Things I am expecting: crying when I leave, relief when he’s totally fine, and one glorious night of sleep without the buzz of the monitor or a 6:30am feeding.

Recently A Sequel
It has recently come to my attention via Candis Jones that there is a sequel to the very popular and wonderfully constructed documentary The Business of Being Born.
Cleverly titled More Business Of Being Born, it’s more of the same but updated. Have you seen it? It’s on Netflix watch instantly so I’m pretty pumped to schedule it in next week. I’ve seen the first one three times.

Recently Following Up
One of my readers recently linked to an interesting article under a post I wrote about premarital sex.
The article is “The Moral Case For Sex Before Marriage” by Jill Filipovic. She writes, “We’re obsessed with sex on television, in music and in advertisements, but we somehow lack the ability to talk about sex as a positive, moral, pleasure-affirming choice that, like any other adult decision, comes with a set of responsibilities. And when government money is going toward telling people to just wait until marriage, we are literally funding an idea that has never worked in all of human history, instead of supporting tried-and-true policies that could mitigate the harm of a sex-obsessed, but pleasure-starved, culture..”
I don’t agree or disagree, I just find the whole thing pretty fascinating and this was a particularly good read. You can find the rest of the article HERE. (Thanks Heather)

I just laughed and laughed… it is true that weekends are different… I think that is one of the biggest things that shocked me about motherhood… no breaks, like ever!
Also, yesterday I listened to that song, “I will wait” probably 25 times in a row… it doesn’t get old, ever.
The illustration of when to ask a woman if she’s pregnant is so true… I never understand why that is even an optional question in people’s minds… if someone wants to share their news, they will! :)
Happy Friday and seriously, enjoy that night away… I have a hint of jealousy! (but I would worry about the same things, undoubtedly)
Oh my gosh SO FUNNY.
Those skits with Ellen. The interview. The e-card? I’m dying over here.
Was wondering – do you ever get any hate mail? That would be my biggest fear of blogging success. I don’t think I’d handle it well.
I recognize this sounds like a crazy question to ask. But your sex posts made me think about it.
Hate mail? No. Although if I would get hate mail, I hope I’d take it as a sign of “making it” instead of being very depressed.
I’ve had a few nasty/inappropriate comments on various posts (the sex one included). I just delete them.
Not a crazy question at all!
Dennis Quaid is the bomb. Have you seen the one he does with Ellen where he’s announcing himself in the Starbucks? “DENNIS QUAAAAAID IS HEREEEEE.”
Yes. SO FUNNY.
I laughed so hard at karaoke roulette that I scared Phoebe. “I want your gloves!”
baha
Those animal pictures just about killed me.
Have fun on your night away! I did that last month. I thought it would be hard…but I got to sleep past 7 for the first time in MONTHS. :)
And the animal photobombs are friggin’ hysterical.
