My girl Erin sent me a great article on parenting this morning. Really, you need to read it. Her words are my words, everything she says I nodded along with my whole heart. It’s called My Advice To New Moms by JJ Keith on Huffington Post. Read it and then send it to all the pregos who keep popping up around every corner. My favorite parts include the bit about not having to puree your peas or blame everything on motherhood. Yes.

It’s fall around these parts, which means it’s time to start a drinking game called “let’s take a shot every time someone instagrams a pumpkin spice latte.” Yesterday I would have been drunk by noon. I do love fall though, which is annoying to say. We all love fall, let’s just get that out in the universe. Things I’m looking forward to about this season: hot apple cider, eating other people’s homemade pumpkin pie, more hot apple cider, and listening to fall song playlists. What are you looking forward to?

Fall also means it’s time to pick up the pace on reading (I get lazy in the summer). I just read Life of Pi, now I’m reading What I Did: A Novel while I wait for Age Of Miracles to come in from the library. What’s on your fall reading list?
Happy Tuesday.

You’re right, that article is pretty great. I need to relax a little bit.
I’m looking forward to pumpkin spice lattes this fall ;)
Fall reading list is Harry Potter. Never read it.
YES! Harry Potter is my #1 most favourite series of all time. I hope you love it.
I’ve actually never read it either and was hoping to read this fall/winter. I usually don’t admit to this, because it sounds like I’m some sort of Harry Potter hater…I’m not. I was just waiting until the hype was over. I’m glad you’re reading too!
Love that article by JJ Keith! Asking my self what a pioneer woman would have done is how I handle most things.
Haha, we do all love fall. social media loves fall in particular. I’m going to a fall wedding. I’m looking forward to it!
You’re so right about the article. It was GOOD! I’m sending it to my just-found-out-she’s-pregnant friend. And printing it for myself.
That shit is good. Like, my only real-life mom friend is so like that, and I love seeing it. And I want to be it. The word I’m looking for is “relaxed.”
I just want to be a relaxed mom. This is my prayer.
Add a squirt or two of the cinnamon dolce syrup (you can buy a whole bottle from Starbucks for real cheap) to your apple cider and top with whipped cream and you have a yummy yummy drink! (that’s the recipe they use at starbucks) so easy and delicious.
What a great tip!
Best email I’ve read in a long, long time.
Sorry, I meant article. Brain = fried.
Sent to all my prego friends. Thanks for being my (only) link souce. haha!
“let’s take a shot every time someone instagrams a pumpkin spice latte.”
lord have mercy, isn’t it true?
I’m looking forward to apple pie.
